Low-end Samsung SM-J100F surfaces via benchmark

Just a few days ago the Samsung SM-E500F got leaked for the first time, and back then we speculated that it could be the first member of an upcoming Galaxy E series from the Korean smartphone maker.
We arrived at that idea based on the E in its model number. Samsung hasn't so far released a phone with that letter in its model number, and the recently unveiled Galaxy A devices both have A in their model numbers.
If all of this pans out, then there's another lineup of handsets coming from Samsung in the future too, and these ones could be called Galaxy J. That's because a previously unheard of Samsung SM-J100F got put through the paces of a graphics benchmark for Android.
As always, this has resulted in a list of its most important specs becoming public. The J100F boasts a 4.8-inch 480x800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP front camera (both with 1080p video recording support), 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of built-in storage (of which 2.2GB will be user accessible).
Running the show is a not often seen Marvell PXA1908 chipset, which has 64-bit support and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. A Vivante GC7000UL GPU is also present.
Although exact mobile data connectivity options haven't been revealed by the benchmark, the SoC in the J100F does support 4G LTE Cat.4 (with theoretical peak download speeds of up to 150Mbps), so hopefully that's made it into this smartphone.
The benchmarked handset runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and it also has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. It's clearly a low-end offering through and through, we'll have to see how well it's going to be priced in order to know whether it will sell in any significant numbers.

Twitter plans to track which apps you download, here is how to opt-out

TwitterIn a move that is likely to miff many users, Twitter has revealed that it plans to track which third-party apps users install on their smartphones. According to a report in Recode, the company will be pushing out an updated version of its official Android app around next week, which will bring this ability (known as App Graph).
While Twitter’s plans seem intrusive, they are not unprecedented and Google allows this type of collection of data in Android as long as apps disclose it in their terms and conditions. Also, the applications like Twitter can only see the names of the apps installed on the device, nothing more.
Twitter plans to use the collected information to better target the advertisements and tailor the overall experience. While the likes of Google and Facebook have plethora of data about their users for offer targeted advertising, Twitter falls behind in this aspect, thus the latest move from the company.
As per Twitter support website, Twitter will inform the users in form of a prompt in the app before beginning the collection of app graph data, so you will have a chance to stop this before Twitter tracks such information.
To opt-out of the app graph, tap the overflow (three vertical dots) icon in the app, go to ‘Settings’, then select the account for which you plan to adjust the setting, then choose ‘Other’ and adjust the setting to ‘Tailor Twitter based on my apps.’

Samsung, Micromax dominate Indian smartphone market in Q3: IDC

Indian smartphone shipments in Q3Samsung and Micromax continue to dominate the Indian smartphone market and the companies accounted for 44 percent of the total smartphone shipments in the country last quarter. According to latest report from research firm IDC, a total of 23.3 million smartphones were shipped in India in Q3, 2014, up 27 percent quarter-on-quarter and 82 percent year-on-year.  The country also emerged as the fastest growing smartphone market in the Asia-pacific region during this period.
Coming to the company-specific shipments, Samsung was responsible for 24 percent of the shipments, followed by Micromax with 20 percent, Lava and Karbonn with each 8 percent and Motorola with 5 percent. Others accounted for 36 percent of the market share.
IDC notes that the big numbers in Q3 were mainly because of the festive demand and the vendors are likely to have left with inventory going in Q4, thus the next quarter won’t see huge growth.
Among other observations, the research firm states that the demand for phablets is stagnating but is likely to rise as 4G roll-out picks pace next year and the consumers have better access to access media on the go.

Doogee TITANS 2 DG700 Unboxing, Hands on, google play store, GPS, dual camera

Doogee has released its flagship smartphone, Doogee Titans 2 DG700, which has the main features that it support waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof functions. Therefore, the quality can be superior than other doogee smartphones like Doogee DG800. Of course, there can't be the only highlight that it will attract numerous customers. Fortunately, we have got the real smartphone and make a nice video about the aspects like unboxing, hands on, game test, GPS test, dual camera, battery and so on. In order to let you know more about the difference among them, i will elaborate it by the following factors.

Display and Design

When i first get the smartphone, i was deeply absorbed by the elegant and military grade design, it is light-weighing with the dimensions of 225 x 130 x 78mm and 460g. The style is totally suitable with me and due to the tri-proof function, the durability when i travel around the world, especially travel of forest is able to reveal clearly. What's more, the crocodile style with leather back is definitely customize with those travel lovers or out-door sports loves. You will also be amazed by the unique and exquisite design. As you know, tri-proof smartphones have been widely used in our daily life, the compact design with 4.5inch QHD IPS OGS screen with 960*540pixels is very convenient to bring and take. Therefore, why not have a try?

Hardware and Processor

Doogee Titans 2 DG700 has also been powered by MTK6582 Quad core 1.3GHz CPU, many users may think how good it be if it had Octa core processor, i have to mention that for a tri-proof smartphone, quad core chipset is rather highly configuration. Because so many other tri-proof smartphones have just dual core chipset. In theory, the quad core processor will be definitely faster than that of dual core. And it also comes with RAM 1GB ROM 8GB, which can be expanded to 64GB TF card. But due to the normal RAM 1GB, i don't recommend downloading too many apps considering the playing speed. In general, the overall chipset performs well.

Dual Camera Quality

About the dual camera, i have to mention that it support 5MP back camera and interpolated to 8.0MP and 2.0MP front camera and interpolated to 5.0MP. For me, the camera is necessary to take picutures with the beautiful landscapes, people, especially keep me in the best mind about the memories i take by the magic smartphone. Moreover, the speed of taking pictures and the quality of screen color are really vivid and clear-cut with iPhone sensor.

Tri-proof function, Waterproof IP67, Extremely ruggedized

The Doogee Titans 2 DG700 has tri-proof function with IP67 waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. Meanwhile, it can be anti-vibration, and anti-scratch, resist the low temperature. Therefore, when you travel in the jungle or mountains, it's best partner to bring. Times has changed, we need this kind of smartphone to have a nice out-door sport.

Faster and more convenient screenshot making

The Titans2 DG700 is equipped with fast screenshot. Put 3 fingers on the screen and draw them down and you will have a screenshot in just one gesture. As we know, samsung smartphones need to touch and move the screen from right to left or left to right, then you can have the sreenshot, but Doogee DG700 make the unique innovation about the function. Just let your hand be with magic.

Powerful Security by Guest Account

Guest account function is also the highlight that i would like to recommend, as we know, data transferring is more transparent and not safer than before, but we need the privacy. Sometimes, our friends or others lend my smartphone to view something that i am not willing to allow. Guest account plays an important role to fix the problem for me. I can save the pictures, files, video, and so on by setting guest account, then this is open for me. And my privacy can be protected well by dg700.

Hotknot Data transferring

In general, NFC function has not been widely used, But a more powerful function like NFC is hotknot which released by Mediatek company, it's glad to know DG700 support Hotknot to share the data from one to the other by touching the screen. Therefore, there is great convenience for me to transfer the file.

Smart Getures control, Smart Button

As the phone becomes more smart and advanced, we have higher requirements about it. This one has the similar smart gentures function as Galaxy Note 4. I can wave my hands to take the call or refuse the call without touching the screen. I can also draw different kinds of figures to open different kinds of apps to let me operate faster and easier.
What's more, there is a smart button which others doesn't have that can record, open the mail and do whatever i want to do.

Fast Charging, power saving mode, durable battery

For me, i would like to use a phone with large-capacity battery, because cellphone has become our nice parnter in my daily life, i like to communicate with my friends by phone, play games by phone, search the Internet by cellphone and do other applications. If the battery is not durable, i would not choose it. Fortunately, Doogee DG700 has 4000mAh battery with long-working time. I don't have to charge it two times a day. It can be a power bank to charge other mobile device, when the power is little, it can be charged fast. More good news is that i can set it in power saving mode to store more power. This feature is the one i like most. I will never afraid of playing games with power off suddenly. It's worthwhile to let you know that it can support OTG function.

Useful LED flashlight as a torch light

In conclusion, Doogee DG700 is able to be the flagship one due to the military style, fine appearance, powerful processor and effective and convenient functions. All of them have brought practice in our daily life. This tri-proof smartphone is the really ideal one that i want most. More videos and news about the smartphone will be shared later.

T-Mobile is called the “Uncarrier” for a reason as they like to shake things up. They’ve done just that several times this year, and today they really kicked things up a notch with a huge new T-Mobile Music Freedom update.
T-Mob has done a lot of cool things for their customers this year. This includes raising the trade-in prices on devices, offering new plans, and a little something called T-Mobile Music Freedom. The service was rolled out earlier in the year as a way to let users’ stream music without affecting their data cap. At the time, there were several services missing, but that has been remedied today.
The new T-Mobile Music Freedom update brings a whopping 14 new music services into the fold. Folks with Freedom on Magenta will now be able to use Google Play Music, SoundCloud, RadioTunes, Xbox Music, Digitally Imported, Mad Genius Radio, Live365, JazzRadio, Fresca Radio, Fit Radio, radioPup, Saavn, RockRadio, and radio.com. Those new streamers join the rest of the gang on Music Freedom, which already includes Rhapsody, Spotify, Slacker, Pandora, AccuRadio, Songza, Rdio, Black Planet, Grooveshark, iTunes Radio, iHeart Radio, Milk Music and Radio Paradise.
If you love music and are thinking about switching carriers, the T-Mobile Music Freedom Promo is well worth making the jump. Streaming music can take a big hit on your data cap, and Magenta’s program covers most major services. The update adding Google Play Music is a big deal, and a move that’s going to make a lot of folks happy.
Would you make the jump to T-Mob if your favorite music streaming service was included?

The OnePlus 2 to stay Cheap and offer more Customization Options

Despite various mishaps, the OnePlus One was still one of the cooler handsets this year and it showed consumers they don’t have to shell out $500 bucks to pick up a top-tier handset. The OnePlus 2 is a lock to arrive sometime next year, and today we’ve learned a few new details about the upcoming device.
Business Insider has the scoop on the new OnePlus, and it is said to be called the OnePlus 2. According to a source that’s “familiar with the situation” there will be more StyleSwap covers this time around, and they will be available at launch. They did manage to get a few covers out this year, but as you’d expect, they had issues with those. Hopefully that won’t be the case with the OnePlus 2.
The OnePlus 2 is also said to have some “surprises” in store with the hardware on the upcoming handset. The original had solid specs across the board, so it may be hard to top them depending on when the phone is actually released. If we’re going to speculate, a Snapdragon 805/810, 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB sounds about right. The “surprise” could be a new fingerprint scanner or possibly a QHD display.
Last but not least, the rumor mill says the company will keep things cheap with the OnePlus 2. This isn’t really a surprise as the whole reason people wanted the original was due to its price and specs. If they keep the hardware upgrade minimal, they could definitely keep the price under $400 bucks again. If not, they will likely have a hard time as they are going to have more competition on the “Flagship Killer” front in 2015.
Are you excited to see what OnePlus does with the sequel or do you think they should concentrate on manufacturing and PR issues?

Garfield Kart Fast & Furry zooms onto mobiles

Kart racing games are plentiful on the app stores, but good free kart racing games are not easy to come by. Garfield Kart made some friends when it arrived for mobiles, and now a free follow up has touched down for Android and iOS with Garfield Kart Fast & Furry.
Most of the population under a certain age has played Mario Kart, and Kart Racing games on mobiles can be a match made in heaven. Garfield Kart Fast & Furry is the latest game to take things to the track, and its set in the world of Garfield, Odie and the rest of the gang. Hopefully Sheldon will make an appearance, but we haven’t seen him yet.
As with any Kart Racer, the goal of the game is to get around the track and take out your opponents with fun things like pies. Garfield Kart Fast & Furry gives users a couple of different control styles to work with, and there are various game modes and challenges to take on as well. The playable racers include Garfield, Jon, Arlene, Nermal, Liz, Harry, Squeak, and Odie. Other features to note are Time Trials, Solo and Multiplayer Championship Mode and character customization.

The ZTE K70 Dual-SIM Tablet gets FCC certification

ZTE is one of the few Chinese manufacturers making an effort to take their handsets global, and we’ve seen a number of their devices arrive in the states this year. What we haven’t seen, is a dual-SIM tablet in the US, but it looks like we’re getting one with the ZTE K70 tablet.
ZTE launched the ZTE MAX on Magenta back in September, and several other handsets are expected to arrive in the US over the next year. The ZTE K70 tablet is an oddity with its dual-SIM configuration, and according to a recent FCC filing, it’s soon bound for the states.
FCC filings generally don’t tell us much, and the ZTE K70 listing shows a tablet that looks to be around 7.5-inches long and 4.5-inches wide. You can clearly see a sensor and camera on the front along with some buttons on the sides, but that’s about it. We won’t speculate on the ZTE K70 specs, but you’re probably looking at a mid-range device. That said, it’s a mid-ranger with WCDMA and GSM support.
It remains to be seen where the ZTE K70 tablet will land or exactly how much it will cost when it arrives. T-Mob seems like a good fit for the slate and we expect the price to be under $300 bucks whenever it touches down in the states.

The rest of the Oppo 3007 specs include a 4.7-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, and a quad-core 1.2GHz chip

If there are two things consumers love out of a good smartphone it’s value and selfies. The photo trend doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, and Oppo is getting in on the fun with a new mid-range device. It’s called the Oppo 3007 smartphone, and it should prove popular among photogs.
Most high-end phones have great cameras, but the front-facing snapper still usually comes in at around 2MP-3MP. If you love the selfie, but don’t’ want to break the bank, the Oppo 3007 may be just the thing for you with its 5MP front-facing camera and 8MP rear shooter. Yes, we’ve seen better combos, but those were one very expensive handsets.
The rest of the Oppo 3007 specs include a 4.7-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, and a quad-core 1.2GHz chip. There’s 8GB of storage under the hood, and you’ll get a microSD slot as well. Rounding things out are Bluetooth, WiFi, microUSB 2.0, and Android 4.4.4 with Color OS slathered on top. The battery side wasn’t listed, and we’re not sure if it will be a dual or single-SIM device at this time.
The Oppo 3007 is one of several new handsets we’ve seen sneak out from Oppo as we’ve covered theOppo 1105 and Oppo U3 over the past couple of weeks. As with the other devices, the Oppo 3007 is bound for China in the near future, and we’ll keep you in the loop as we learn more.

The Acer Iconia Talk S is a 7-inch voice calling tablet

Tablet phones are nothing new, and while most of us don’t see many folks walking around talking on 7-inch slates, there is certainly a market for them. The Acer Iconia Talk S is the latest voice-calling tablet, and it will soon be available to purchase in Taiwan.
People flipped their lids when they found out the Nexus 6 was going to be 6-inches, but that’s nothing compared to the Acer Iconia Talk S. The tablet/handset is 7-inches and has a 720p display with a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 under the hood. The device has 1GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB) and a 3,780mAh battery. We’re not sure what type of battery life the supersized phone will get, but the 64-bit chip and 720p display will help with that somewhat.
As for the cameras, you’re looking at a 5MP rear snapper sans flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. You’ll also get front-facing speakers, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and all the usual bells & whistles. The Acer Iconia Talk S may be huge, but it’s comes with dual-SIM slots and the benefit of LTE connectivity. It will run KitKat, and you should expect the Android 5.0 Lollipop update sometime down the road.
The Acer Iconia Talk S price is around $250 bucks and it is bound for Taiwan with no word on international availability at this time. That said, it’s not uncommon for their products to find their way to other regions and you can always go the third-party route if you’re itching to have one.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 is one of the more interesting smartphones

The Lenovo Vibe X2 is one of the more interesting smartphones we’ve seen this year with due to its “layered” look and attachments. While the phone still isn’t available in some parts of the world, it appears as if the company has a variant in the works with the Lenovo X2Pt5.
Just like the FCC in the states, China’s TENAA is a wealth of information on incoming devices. It’s where handsets go to get certified before being released, and the Lenovo X2Pt5 is one of a slew of smartphones that have recently passed through its gates.
The Lenovo X2Pt5 is similar to its Vibe X2 sibling it numerous ways, but the TENAA listing shows that it has a 5.3-inch display. While the resolution stays the same at 1,920 x 1,080, the Vibe has a smaller 5-inch screen. The X2Pt5 is also taller and thinner with a 1.5GHz octa-core SoC compared to the 2GHz chip in the Vibe.
The rear camera of the Lenovo X2Pt5 is still listed at 13MP, but the front-facing camera gets a big bump up to 8MP. The rest of the specs include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and all the usual suspects in the connectivity department. As for those neat add-on accessories, we assume the X2Pt5 smartphone will have the same capabilities as the TENAA photos show the same layered look.
As you’d expect, the Lenovo X2Pt5 will hit China before moving on to other parts of the world which should include India, parts of Europe and possibly the states. It’s been easier to obtain Lenovo handsets this year than in years past, and one can only assume that trend will continue.
Would you purchase the Lenovo X2Pt5 if it becomes available in your region?

The newly announced Meizu MX4 Pro is is a beefed-up version of the MX4

meizu mx4 proThe newly announced Meizu MX4 Pro is is a beefed-up version of the MX4 and it is regarded as the flagship device of the company. The smartphone comes with a display that is slightly larger at 5.5-inches has its resolution increased to 2,560 x 1,536. This means that it delivers an impressive 546 PPI, which is a better density than the iPhone 6 Plus’ 401 PPI. So while it might look incredibly similar to Apple’s new iPhone by design, it comes with some really great features, especially considering its price.
The smartphone is powered by aocto-core big.LITTLE Samsung SoC, which also powers the Galaxy Alpha. The processor contains four Cortex-A15 and four Cortex-A7 CPU cores accompanied by a Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. Meizu says that it is 20 percent more efficient than the previous MediaTek processor in the MX4. It also comes with3GB of RAM and is available in the following storage options – 16GB/32GB/64G.meizu mx4 iphone clone
Other features of the device include NFC connectivity, LTE support, a 3,350 mAh non-removable battery, new5MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 20.7MPSony IMX220 sensor as the rear camera. The MX4 Pro also comes with a mTouch fingerprint scanner that will allow users to make payments through AliPay starting with next year.
The device also gets a “Retina Sound” feature which is quite a weird name.
